CHARISMA DAILY DEVOTIONAL
FRIDAY 25 DECEMBER 2020
JOY IN THE MORNING
Scriptural Reading: Psalm 30:5
Have you ever imagined how long it took God to send us a Saviour in the person of Jesus? Jesus came to us a little more than 2000 years ago. Why did God stay so long before sending the Messiah? We all know that God is ageless and does not use the human calendar in his programme. The Psalmist says that “a thousand years in your (God) sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night”. I don't think God has ever hurried up to meet up. There is no need because there is nothing that can hinder him or thwart his plans. He takes his time.
Sometimes we pass through long periods of struggles and problems without a glimpse of light on our path. We may need to learn from Christmas that although “weeping may last through the night...joy comes with the morning”. Today, as we celebrate Christmas, may you experience a new dawn in your struggles through life.
MEDITATION:
How do you appreciate God's love for you?
STRATEGIC PRAYER POINTS:
1. Gracious Father, I am grateful for the gift of your only son
2. Father, may the birth of Jesus bring good things in my life
3. Father give me the grace to spread the message of Christmas – the message of love.
4. Pray for the Leaders of the Church and of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria
5. Present your private intentions to God
6. Say your daily prophetic Prayers (Page 6)
7. Pray the act of consecration to the Holy Spirit
DAILY PROPHETIC PRAYERS
Lord, you are my Shepherd there is nothing I shall want. You make me lie down in green pastures. You also lead me beside the still waters. Lord, you restore my soul and lead me on the path of righteousness for your namesake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadows of death, I shall fear no evil. For you oh Lord are with me in all situations. Your shepherd rod comforts me with signs and wonders, deliverance and protection in the victorious name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.
For this reason, I shall neither stumble nor fall. I shall not be a victim of accident, sickness, diseases and untimely death. I shall rise above every limitation and rejoice as you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You oh Lord have anointed my head with oil and has declared to the hearing of my enemies; “Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm”. By the reason of your anointing upon my life oh Lord, my cup overflows with grace, mercy, uncommon favours, divine uplifting and your blessing that makes rich and adds no sorrows in the mighty name of Jesus.
Surely, your goodness and mercy shall follow me, all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord, forever and ever in the most powerful name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.
PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL AGAINST THE FORCES BEHIND COVID - 19.
Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebukes him, we humbly pray, and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
WE PRAY WITH ST JUDE THE PATRON OF DIFFICULT CASES AGAINST THE SPREAD OF CORONA VIRUS
O most holy apostle, Saint Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honoureth and invoketh thee universally, as the patron of hopeless cases and things almost despaired of.
Pray for me, who am so miserable. Make use, I implore thee, of that particular privilege accorded to thee, to bring visible and speedy help where help was almost despaired of.
Come to mine assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolation and succour of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly...
(insert your prayer request here, especially the menace of COVID - 19 Pandemic)
...and that I may praise God with thee and all the elect throughout eternity.
I promise thee, O blessed Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favour, to always honour thee as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to thee. Amen.
