CHARISMA DAILY DEVOTIONAL
FRIDAY 18 DECEMBER 2020
IN HIM WE LIVE
Scriptural Reading: Act 17:22-34
The text of our reflection today is “a poem from Greek mythology, written to Zeus, their god. St. Paul used the words of that poem to point his hearers away from that false god, Zeus, and point to the living and true God”. He made them know that we exist just because there is this true God and not because of Zeus. Many, of course, did not understand him because they did not previously know about the true God.
Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria We all have families where we live and move and have our being. We step out each time from time to time and always return there. Even when we grow and live apart, the bond is not broken. We keep on maintaining the tie of family relationship. St. Paul reminds us today that we belong to the family of God. Therefore, we have family culture which is determined by God. It is the lifestyle of our family. Therefore, our lifestyle must not contradict our family culture. We are all children of God and an orange tree does not bear banana and vice versa. Let us be mindful of borrowed culture.
MEDITATION:
Do you know that your lifestyle is not the same with that of every other person?

DAILY PROPHETIC PRAYERS
Lord, you are my Shepherd there is nothing I shall want. You make me lie down in green pastures. You also lead me beside the still waters. Lord, you restore my soul and lead me on the path of righteousness for your namesake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadows of death, I shall fear no evil. For you oh Lord are with me in all situations. Your shepherd rod comforts me with signs and wonders, deliverance and protection in the victorious name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.
For this reason, I shall neither stumble nor fall. I shall not be a victim of accident, sickness, diseases and untimely death. I shall rise above every limitation and rejoice as you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You oh Lord have anointed my head with oil and has declared to the hearing of my enemies; “Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm”. By the reason of your anointing upon my life oh Lord, my cup overflows with grace, mercy, uncommon favours, divine uplifting and your blessing that makes rich and adds no sorrows in the mighty name of Jesus.
Surely, your goodness and mercy shall follow me, all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord, forever and ever in the most powerful name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.
PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL AGAINST THE FORCES BEHIND COVID - 19.
Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebukes him, we humbly pray, and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
WE PRAY WITH ST JUDE THE PATRON OF DIFFICULT CASES AGAINST THE SPREAD OF CORONA VIRUS
O most holy apostle, Saint Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honoureth and invoketh thee universally, as the patron of hopeless cases and things almost despaired of.
Pray for me, who am so miserable. Make use, I implore thee, of that particular privilege accorded to thee, to bring visible and speedy help where help was almost despaired of.
Come to mine assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolation and succour of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly...
(insert your prayer request here, especially the menace of COVID - 19 Pandemic)
...and that I may praise God with thee and all the elect throughout eternity.
I promise thee, O blessed Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favour, to always honour thee as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to thee. Amen.
