CHARISMA DAILY DEVOTIONAL 18TH OCTOBER 2020

CHARISMA DAILY DEVOTIONAL

SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER 2020

SHOW ME YOUR FAITH II

Scriptural Reading: Matthew 25:31-42

Only a few teachers will believe a student who claims to have understood what he has been taught unless he confirms it through successful writing of a test or examination. Today we will reflect on the things that keep our faith alive or revives a dead one. St. James already gave us a clue in yesterday's reflection; “if a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food” and you just wish him well without palliatives, then you have got it wrong. The faith we profess is only validated when it is practically expressed.

You cannot give what you don't have but there is none of us who doesn't have something to offer. If your hands are capped, your legs are certainly not chained. There is always someone in need to take advantage of and shine the light of Christ. Today's scripture passage is an exposition of the trick to a successful kingdom business. You have been saved to do the work of your saviour. It may be good to echo that your work will only make sense if you receive the master of the work in whose name you now do the work.

MEDITATION:

Some people say that your work will not save you. How do you understand that?

STRATEGIC PRAYER POINTS:

1. Ask God to give you a charitable heart

2. Ask God to reveal to you what you have that can be used to serve others

3. Pray for someone you know has great need now.

4. Pray for the Leaders of the Church and of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria,

5. Present your private intentions to God

6. Say your daily prophetic Prayers (Page 6)

7. Pray the act of consecration to the Holy Spirit

DAILY PROPHETIC PRAYERS

Lord, you are my Shepherd there is nothing I shall want. You make me lie down in green pastures. You also lead me beside the still waters. Lord, you restore my soul and lead me on the path of righteousness for your namesake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadows of death, I shall fear no evil. For you oh Lord are with me in all situations. Your shepherd rod comforts me with signs and wonders, deliverance and protection in the victorious name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

For this reason, I shall neither stumble nor fall. I shall not be a victim of accident, sickness, diseases and untimely death. I shall rise above every limitation and rejoice as you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You oh Lord have anointed my head with oil and has declared to the hearing of my enemies; “Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm”. By the reason of your anointing upon my life oh Lord, my cup overflows with grace, mercy, uncommon favours, divine uplifting and your blessing that makes rich and adds no sorrows in the mighty name of Jesus.

Surely, your goodness and mercy shall follow me, all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord, forever and ever in the most powerful name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL AGAINST THE FORCES BEHIND COVID - 19.

Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebukes him, we humbly pray, and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

WE PRAY WITH ST JUDE THE PATRON OF DIFFICULT CASES AGAINST THE SPREAD OF CORONA VIRUS

O most holy apostle, Saint Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honoureth and invoketh thee universally, as the patron of hopeless cases and things almost despaired of.

Pray for me, who am so miserable. Make use, I implore thee, of that particular privilege accorded to thee, to bring visible and speedy help where help was almost despaired of.

Come to mine assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolation and succour of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly...

(insert your prayer request here, especially  the menace of COVID - 19 Pandemic)

...and that I may praise God with thee and all the elect throughout eternity.

I promise thee, O blessed Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favour, to always honour thee as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to thee. Amen.
